Race 3; April 9, 10  : Modesto

2021 Schedule

There almost certainly won't be regular races in the 2021 season, but there will be either virtual challenges or local time trial style races.  Whatever events NorCal decides to run are still TBD, click the COVID link above for more details.

For now, I'm leaving the rest of this page as it was for 2020, as a reference.  Hopefully in 2022 we'll return to normal racing.

2020 Race Schedule

The standard racing season has 5 NorCal “South Conference” races plus the NorCal Championships (North vs South Conference), a total of 6 races. Races start in early March and then proceed roughly every other weekend until mid May. NorCal's 2020 race schedule, before things got canceled by COVID, was
  1. Redding, Sunday 3/8/20, Swasey Recreation Area
  2. Petaluma, Sunday 3/22/20, Five Springs Farm, (CANCELED)
  3. Granite Bay, Sunday 4/5/20, Granite Bay Main Beach (CANCELED)
  4. La Grange, Saturday 4/25/20, Exchecquer MTB Park (CANCELED)
  5. Conference Champs, Sunday 5/3/20, Six Sigma Ranch Winery (CANCELED)
  6. NorCal Champs, Sunday 5/17/20, Six Sigma Ranch Winery (CANCELED)
Some notes on this schedule:
  1. If Petaluma rains out, we’ll squeeze back into Fort Ord and we'll be racing Saturday 3/21 instead of Sunday.  I'd say there is about a 50% chance of this happening, so be prepared for it.
  2. Next year NorCal will move to separate race venues for North and South and we won't wander quite so far from home - but this year it’s going to be extra travel as a transition year.
  3. Many NICA racers will attend Sea Otter between races 3 and 4
  4. For the latest updates and details, check the NorCal website.
